Academics at Yıldız Technical University have developed an asphalt material resistant to cracking at temperatures 10 degrees lower than standard practices. Thanks to this patented invention, roads will now have a longer lifespan and costs will decrease. 

Yıldız Technical University (YTÜ) Department of Civil Engineering Assistant Professor Dr. Mustafa Sinan Yardım and Lecturer Dr. Betül Değer Şitilbay have developed a new asphalt material aimed at extending the service life of highways and reducing maintenance and repair costs. 

The second phase of the Yıldız Explorers Program, which was opened to other universities this year, was officially launched. Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Eyüp Debik, announced that a total of 20 million lira in funding would be provided to 119 student teams developing innovative projects. YTÜ Yıldız Technopark General Manager Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammet Garip İse stated, “The Yıldız Explorers project is a quest to find that one person who is dedicated, unwavering, hardworking, committed, and willing to embrace solitude if necessary.”

With FC26 tournaments, racing simulators, and VR & AR experience zones, Level Up Days brings together beloved figures from the gaming world with Yıldız students.

Our university’s traditional spring festival, YıldızFest’26, will take place from June 9–11, 2026, at the festival grounds on the Davutpaşa Campus.  

Spanning three days, YıldızFest’26 will bring together the Yıldız community with a rich program ranging from concerts and student club events to technology and engineering projects, as well as art and sports activities.

As part of "Istanbul Zero Waste Week," held in Istanbul from June 1 to 7, a panel discussion titled "The Zero Point of Waste" was organized. Speaking at the opening of the panel held at Yıldız Technical University’s Davutpaşa Campus, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül stated that Zero Waste Week was being held for the first time in Turkey and worldwide.
